Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Registered Dietitian

Nutrition has always been an essential part of my life. However, choosing Nutrition as my professional career happened organically due to my life experience and self-discovery.

My interest began with staying healthy and fit at an early age, but my relationship with food started to shift as I tried to conform to societal norms. Our social environment, including the media, promotes a "perfect" body image that does not embrace the diversity of body sizes and shapes or medical conditions.

When we internalize that message, unhealthy eating behaviors start to creep into our lives in the pursuit of achieving that body image. My journey toward a career in nutrition began when I was trying to find a nutrition and eating program that I could trust and that was right for me. As I delved deeper into the field of food and nutrition, my interest grew, and I found my niche when I started a graduate program.

I earned my Master of Science in Nutrition from Hunter College with an Academic Excellence Award in 2012. After graduating from the MS program, I completed my internship at Northwell Health System, primarily working at the North Shore University Hospital campus. During my internship program, I rotated through various medical units and worked with diverse patient populations. I also had the opportunity to provide one-on-one consultations to clients during that time.

After completing my internship and obtaining my license as a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, I worked in a nursing home and later at a teaching hospital in Manhattan, New York.

I am very grateful for my four years of experience as a clinical dietitian; however, I wanted to build lasting relationships with my patients to have a lifelong impact. Building healthy lifestyle changes requires continuous guidance, motivation, and accountability.

Therefore, I started my practice in 2019 to help people who are willing to change their lives for a healthier and happier one.

The program I implement incorporates Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness techniques, as well as Functional and Integrative Nutrition.

I have adopted this approach because it has worked best for my clients and me over the years and is supported by evidence-based research. Additionally, it is one of the most reliable and successful leading methods in the field today.

Currently, I have been consulting my clients on weight management, diabetes, and gastrointestinal (GI) issues using the MB-EAT approach and Functional and Integrative Nutrition. I live in New York with the love of my life and greatest support—my husband—and our greatest blessing, our three children.
